running after, stumbling in front of, bowing before, jumping to see, drowning within, climbing to find, falling upon the KING OF KINGS and LORD OF LORDS - JESUS CHRIST!
G K Chesterton said, "The man who lives in a small community lives in a much larger world... The reason is obvious. In a large community we can choose our companions. In a small community our companions are chosen for us."
Community ...(is) the place where the person you least want to live with always lives! Responding to this, Philip Yancey says, "We often surround ourselves with the people we most want to live with, thus forming a club or clique, not a community. Anyone can form a club; it takes grace, shared vision, and hard work to form a community." We might also add that it takes a miracle that only God himself can perform. But it is in such a community that disciples are made. To be a community of light from which the light of Christ will emanate we need to be intentional in our relationships - to love the unlovely, forgive the unforgiveable, embrace the repulsive, include the awkward, accept the weird. It is in contexts such as these that sinners are transformed into disciples who obey everything King Jesus has commanded.

...include the awkward, accept the weird... im such a jerk...
"I may wonder what kind of mission God has for me, when I should be asking what kind of me God wants for His mission." ~ Total Church
this reminded me of Matt Perman's message on vocation to us cornell kids last year. "with the gifts/talents, passions/desires, and opportunities you have, what can you spend your life doing that will make the GREATEST impact for the world, for the glory of God - that's your calling"
The bible says that everything in the universe points to Jesus. Everything should make us say "thank you jesus". but so often, its hard to think that - especially feel that.
But it hit me today. In heaven, every where we look, everything we taste, every time we smell, touch, breathe, hear anything - we will always feel (with GREAT INTENSITY) - "JESUS IS FREAKING AMAZING!!""
that feeling. that high. will never go away. it will just get stronger and stronger.
you ever have something on your 'to do' list that you just DONT WANT TO DO, but you really should? im finding that if i promise myself a reward right afterwards (like 'you can listen to this really good sermon youve been dieing to listen to...'), it helps motivate me to just do it.
what motivates you to not procrastinate? (also - lately, ive found www.teuxdeux.com very helpful. very easy and simple)
